Biryani, produced by K Gnan Shakthivel Raja who earlier produced blockbuster films like Yuganiki Okkadu, Awara, Naa Peru Siva, Singam etc, starring Karthi and Hansika and directed by Venkat Prabhu has been released this week in over 2500 screens across the world and has garnered huge openings.

Gnan Shakthivel said ‘Biryani has been a huge success both in Tamil and Telugu and turned out to be a true comeback film for Karthi who has struggled in his recent past. Venkat Prabhu has made a wonderful thriller and the centurions Yuvan Shankar Raja and fight master Selva have given a great value for the movie. I thank the audiences in Telugu for making Biryani a super success and we are also planning to organize the Triple Platinum Disc function for the audio’

Karthi said ‘My mobile is ringing nonstop with calls from everywhere congratulating me for the good film we have made. They are especially glued to the seats in the second half and enjoying all the songs. I thank the audience for the great success’

Yuvan Shankar Raja said ‘This is a great musical hit after 7/G, Awara and Aadavari Matalaku… I am happy that I did my hundredth film for Studio Green and that the film is a success too. The house gives great freedom for technicians and I would love to work for them again and again’

Director Venkat Prabhu said ‘The movie is stemmed out of the passion for the story. Karthi is a guy who thinks like a common audience while doing the film and its his support that made this film a reality. But for him, the Biryani wouldn’t have been so delicious. I thank the audience for making this film a great success.

Dialogue writer Shashank Vennelakanti, Co-Producers SR Prakash babu and SR Prabhu thanked the audience for the success.
